Illinois Church Shooter Goes Down

I think one of the things to come out of 9/11 and the past few years of police ineptness, is that people are more likely to step up and be heroes in dramatic situations. For example; last week a man went into an Illinois church in an attempted killing and suicide spree. But instead of killing as many as he probably wanted, according to CNN.com he was subdued by many of the guys attending the service. As time goes on, and as situations like this become more prevalent, it is nice to know that instead of waiting on the police to surround the building and try talking the guy out, that citizens will step up and do what needs to be done to stop a bad situation for getting worse.

It's great that people are actually standing up to terrorists (homegrown or from abroad) now. Almost as if America is finally standing behind our claim that "these colors don't run".

Too bad that police will probably get their panties in a bunch and start reprimanding people for not leaving it to the cops. Hopefully the people will still have the balls to stand up and say "someone has to do the job!"

Yeah, how much you want to bet that one of these times when this happens, the police will arrest the guys who tackled the gunman and charge them with assault.
