It is interesting to note that with inauguration day this weekend that we have since seen protesters all over the world, mostly women, protesting President Trump. I'm curious where all these women were before he was elected? Yes, there were some protests before he was elected but not to this number?
If millions of women and a few men were out this week protesting him, how many of these women actually voted this year? In fact in the United States the ratio of women to men his higher, with approximately 51% women to 49% men. And in key states like Florida it is 51.1% women to 48.9% male, according to the 2010 census. So women, if you suddenly care so much where were you?
I would imagine that a large number of these protesters did in fact vote, as political activists, but it would be interesting to know how many didn't. As a male who voted for Hillary, I am a bit annoyed at all these women who didn't vote and are now suddenly against the pussy grabbing, multiple times married, wife cheating, prostitute using president of the United States. Although I was already annoyed at any women who actually did vote and voted for Trump.
Even Trump is calling out these protester...
I don't know if celebrities hurt causes but in a country where we are always hearing about the pay gap, the glass ceiling, spousal abuse, and more when it comes to men and women, it is crazy to think that nearly half of the women voters voted against their own best interests.Yes, actual women who voted nearly half voted for him.
When I rant on how the country is getting dumber, I want the women out there to know that it's not just men getting dumber, it's you as well!

I should start by saying their might be spoilers in this review but that is under the assumption that something happens in this movie that isn't totally predictable and hasn't already been done before.
The movies starts with a joke. Not an action moment of much, but a low quality CGI moment between Kirk and a new race. But I knew what I was getting into when I decided to go see this movie. Which is low quality action. From there we have a touching moment between Kirk and Bones and a nice moment with Spock and the films acknowledging the passing of Leanord Nemoy.
Of course, this is supposed to setup the emotional story arc of the film. Instead it turns into a typical CGI filled action flick that rotates and rotates more from one scene to the next. Watching this movie is like riding a roller coaster for hours! Of course they have to cut to the Jason Born inspired shaky camera extreme close-up fight scenes as everything rotates into the same movie tropes we have become to expect from the latest iteration of this franchise. And by that I mean doing everything that has been done before just with bigger special effects.
And of course… Big surprise since it's been a few movies since they last blew up the enterprise, it is time to do it again.
The bad guy is the same bad guy we have seen before bent on destroying worlds or people. And…. Well you get the point. Nothing new to see here either.
The movie does have a few redeeming qualities, like Karl Urban's portrail of Dr. McCoy. The only one of the crew that seems to have any actual acting talent. Well, him and Sofia Boutella as Jaylah. I'm slowly becoming a fan of hers, after Kingsman and this. But Urban's and Boutella's performances aren't enough to makeup up for a copy and paste script co-written by Simon Pegg. He clearly was heavily influenced by the check and what the previous Abrams produced movies have done and that's copy previous Star Trek movies. It worked before so might as well keep doing it right?
The movie jumps from one unbelievable action scene to the next and expects us to buy into a 100 year old spaceship that crash landed on a planet and was never meant to fly in an atmosphere can suddenly fly again. Yes, just like an airplane built in 1916 can keep up with a modern jetliner.
The movie does eventually end with… big surprise… a fight scene between Kirk and the bad guy and Kirk winning…. There's your spoiler. Or was the enterprise blowing up the spoiler? Oh and the emotional arc setup at the beginning with Kirk and Spock… it doesn't really pay off.
Justin Lin's directing works for the Fast and Furious franchise because it doesn't try to be something it's not. Star Trek used to be something more than it currently is. Gene Roddenberry's Star Trek this is not.

I received an email from this guy Mike Browning (firstname.lastname@example.org) with a request for photography at a wedding anniversary. I often get requests for event photography services, I am a photographer after all. So I reply asking for more information on what he is after, I sent him a quote.
He then replies with this:
The price is fine by me and I’m ready to make full payment of the service now with my credit card so I can be rest assured the date is secured for the event.
I need you to render me a favor regarding the event planner that is handling the event for me. The favor is that the event planner is currently not authorized to accept credit card so I want you to help coordinate his fee on my card along with your payment.
I will give you my card to charge for your service and the event planner fee (You will charge your fee then charge an additional €2,550 for the event planner), As soon as you charge it through and it approves you will forward it to him so everything can be set for the event.
Reason I’m asking you for the favor is cause I just got out of Intensive care and currently and My Psychiatrist strongly advice me to minimize the stress I go through else I might develop severe weakness and tiredness.
I am willing to offer you an extra €100 as tip for your assistance, Bear with me I will be authorizing and responsible for all the charges on my credit card.
Below is the breakdown of the charges you will be running on my credit card:
Photo-shoot : €300
Event Planner : €2,550
CC Charges: 3.5%
What's impressive about this scam is that he takes the time to contact a business about legitimate services they offer, versus asking for help from the king of Nigeria or his sick grandmother. He even they tries to sweeten the offer with a tip to feed on my greed.
I thought about playing along, taking the charge, then never going along with the rest of the scam to the event planner part but the reality is I do have an actual business to run so instead decided to write a blog post about it. But good attempt Mike or whatever your real name is.

Last year I bought this service from a company called 4Team that allows people using outlook to sync email calendars with the software. It worked okay and cost 40 bucks at the time and included one year of support.
I'm assuming you can see where this is going.
So I used the product for a year with no issues and then bought a new computer. I went to move everything to the new computer and of course wasn't able to activate the software. Thinking I simply needed to deactivate it on the old computer I contacted support.
Me : Hi. i'm moving from one computer to another and when i enter my activation code i get an error that the activation has failed. I'm assuming this means it needs to be deactivated on the old computer in some way?
Support: Please hold on, I will transfer you to our sales department as they are dealing with activations. You will not need to retype your query.
Please wait while I transfer the chat to the best suited site operator.
Support 2 : As I can see from your account, your subscription for the software updates and technical support expired on 9/29/2016. In order to activate the newest version, license must be valid. You can extend it by purchasing a license upgrade. Extension price is 24.98 EUR. Would you like to acquire it and receive a purchase quote?
Me : I'd prefer not to as i don't really consider moving from one computer to another a necessary reason to pay for support. you would think that would be something that is a common task people would do. I'm fine with my current version. i don't need the new one i just want it to work on my new computer in the same way it works on the old one
He goes on to tell me that they are only supporting the current version of the software. If I happened to save the original version I had I could use that (without support of course), but since I didn't save the original downloaded installation file I'm S.O.L.
Support 2: Sorry for the inconvenience, but our licensing policy as well as EULA states that we provide free support and software updates free for one year after the purchase. Your scenario is considered support case, therefore it's necessary to purchase a license upgrade.
Me Like i said i don't want to new version, just to use the one i already have.
Support 2 : I completely understand how this can be a tough situation for you and I sincerely apologize for this. However, policies are determined at a higher level and we are left with the enforcement of it. Here is a direct link to our licensing policy: http://4team.biz/Help.aspx#Licensing.
Many years ago I worked customer service at AT&T and whenever we found a customer annoying about stuff like this we would respond with, "It's in our terms and conditions. Did you read the terms and conditions?" because of course no one ever had. But I would rarely ever do this and often try to help my customers out. Sometimes this would involve creative workarounds, because as they say a happy customer sometimes tells people about the good service but are way more likely to tell people about the bad service. It seems more and more that the point of having customer service is less and less necessarily as there is no service involved, there is only, "the policy in front of me tells me to do this, and the people in charge say to only do this." As AI becomes better I can see this being one of the areas it will move into, as it is not like an actual person does anything different than a machine would.
So instead of providing some type of workaround or more than 10% off the subscription price they lost a customer. As there are more companies out there that do the same thing, and for the creative free workarounds. And it gives a cranky monkey something to blog about.
