Before her body is cold Mitch "The Hypocrite" McConnell says, "President Trump's nominee will receive a vote on the floor of the United States Senate"
This is a complete contradiction to his stance when 9 months before the election and Justice Anton Scalia passed away. At that time when President Obama put forth Merrick Garland as a nominee, McConnell refused to allow his nominee saying, "The American people should have a voice in the selection of their next Supreme Court Justice. Therefore, this vacancy should not be filled until we have a new president."
Now just hours, yes hours after her death and less than two months before the election when Ruth Bader Ginsburg has passed away, Mitch "The Hypocrite" McConnell is and his lapdog Lindsey Graham have already said they will be pushing through a new Supreme Court nominee before the election.
I'm guessing a lot of this has to do with his lack of faith that Trump will win a second term and his lack of faith in his own party's ability to hold on to the Senate. Because if not for that, why not wait until after the election. That way he could follow through with his preview statement rather than contradicting himself. But what is more important to Republicans than respectability, honor, or fairness? It is stacking the supreme court to the right so that individual rights can be torn away, personal freedoms can be removed, and the United States can take one more step to totalitarianism.
