Veep Drinking Game

Super Tuesday and the Death of Jerry Falwell

I was going to write about one of the reasons I’m not a total nutty leftist today. Yesterday, was the national boycott gas day. A tradition that happens each year, in some lame assed attempt of sending a message to the gas companies and accomplishing nothing. Do people really think that no filling up one day is going to make a difference in the corporate pockets? No. If people want to do something, why don’t they consider taking the bus, riding a bike, or walking? This morning I didn’t notice a change in the gas prices at the pumps, but there was a potent haze of smug over the city.

Jerry Falwell

Instead of trash talking the left-wing nuts, I want to rave about the loss of a right-wing nut; Jerry Falwell died yesterday. Yep, while people were busy avoiding the gas station, one of the examples as to why I don’t go to church died. Falwell is known for leading the “Moral Majority”, hating gays, hating women, hating the tellatubbies, and really just spreading hate in the name of god. Falwell, the man who blamed 9/11 on “pagans, and the abortionists, and the feminists, and the gays and the lesbians who are actively trying to make that an alternative lifestyle, the ACLU, People For the American Way, all of them who have tried to secularize America.” Will not be missed in my book, and if there is a heaven, I can only hope it’s true heaven and Falwell is now sitting in hell.

Rot in hell you conservative, right-wing, religious piece of shit! Let us pray for the rest of the people like you, will be joining you soon.

I hope you are sitting down for my response. I actually have to agree with you about Falwell on several aspects.

I agree that he uses God as a cover to spread his own prejudices. It's not right. As Christians, we (and when I say "we", I mean "me" because you are from one) are called to love our brothers without prejudice. "Don't hate the people, hate the sin" is a common theme to TRUE Christians. This guy obviously did not follow that.

The part about 9/11 is just crazy. It was not just the pages, abortionists, feminists, ect that caused 9/11. It was all of us, Christians included. It is our Western culture as a whole that was the reasoning for us to be attacked by the Islamic Extremeists.

Another thing that gets me, after doing a little research (because I am so busy at work), I noticed that this guy is a right wing version of Michael Moore - a fat overweight conspiricist that defames those who don't agree with him 100%.

The next thing that kills me is this guy filed lawsuit after lawsuit against people for "doing wrong to him". Um, hello, the Bible also tells us to "turn the other cheek", don't take isn't ours, and leave judgement to God, and only God.

I do not support this guy either. He is a hypocrite and it shames me that a "fellow Christian" would do this. Especially since it is what turns undecideds away from the church when in fact, it is a wonderful thing, but gets contaminated by posers. While I will not condemn him, I will say that he will answer to God.

Phew, glad I got that off my chest.

Phew, long response. But I was able to pick up on the key point you are making – The Rooster loves Michael Moore!
