Obesity Around the World

The U.S. might be at the top of the list when it comes to the increasing rates of obesity, but it’s nice to know that other countries are trying to catch up.

The Devout Lacking Knowledge on Religion

Here is a bit on news that isn’t really all that surprising, “A new survey of Americans' knowledge of religion found that atheists, agnostics, Jews and Mormons outperformed Protestants and Roman Catholics in answering questions about major religions.” For example, more than half of the Protestants involved didn’t know that Martin Luther is the one who instigated the Protestant Reformation.

When it comes to Christianity and religion the United States claims to be one of the most religious countries in the world. Which of course, makes it even more interesting that our devout scored worse on the test than atheists and agnostics who scored higher than Mormons or Jews, with Catholics scoring the worst.

The Spreading of the Rally to Restore Sanity

Last month Glen Back and his flock of mindless followers held a rally to spout off and prove that most Americans are ignorant mindless sheep. Now Jon Stewart and the Daily Show are jumping in the rally race, along with his partner in crime Stephen Colbert.

On October 30th Stewart is holding his rally for the people who aren’t extremist right-wingers or just as extreme on the left. The Stewart rally is going to be held in Washington D.C. and is for those who don’t run around spouting off nonsense all the time, those whose views aren’t told to them by loud-mouth douche-bags. A rally for those in the middle of the spectrum who don’t get a bunch of time in the media, for those Americans who view politics as the joke they are.

On the same day, of course, Stephen Colbert is having is parody rally dedicated to keeping fear alive, which is what the Glen Beck rally should have been called, as his form of conservatism is all about fear.

Did You Hear?

The recession is over! Celebrate! Break out the champagne and caviar and dance the night away! What’s that? You say you can’t afford champagne? Get some Brut! What? Caviar is too rich for your pocketbook? Maybe some Cheez Whiz will do?Wait, you can’t dance the night away because the only job you could find is the graveyard shift at the 7-11 for minimum wage, even though you have a PhD in Astrophysics? Join the club, we’ll meet you in the morning!
I don’t know which standards are used to determine whether or not a recession is over, but it seems like the only idiot retarded enough to really believe that phooey is Christine O’Donnell. You must have some ruby encrusted blinders on to not see the thick misery, spread like a fine mist across the nation in these deeply troubling economic times.
Did any of us ever really believe that these jokers were dealing straight with us? I hope not, because, according to them, not only is the recession over, it has been over since July of 2009.That’s a yea…

Ines Sainz Feeling Uncomfortable in a Room Full of Men

If you follow sports, you’ve probably already heard about Ines Sainz a reporter who has created a windstorm of sexual harassment allegations against the New York Jets by stating, “I felt very uncomfortable ... Women should be treated professionally, and they deserve to be treated with respect," upon entering the locker room of the team. For those who don’t know, Ines Sainz is a Miss Universe Pageant participant and sports news reporter. A job I'd be willing to bet she got based more on her looks, than her sports reporting ability, as she happens to have nice tits and a sexy ass. Something we can all see as she has no problem wearing tight shirts and pants that accentuate her body.

The supposed harassment consists of statements like calling her beautiful, and hooting and hollering at her when she walked into the locker room, and during practice. The question I have is, how is it that she has walked into locker rooms before and not been hooted and hollered at?
The world of co…

Terry Jones, Adding to the Flames of Hatred and Intolerance

In two days it will be September 11th, a day that most of us will take a few minutes to remember where we were and how we felt about the twin towers attack. Others will take time to remember the loved ones no longer with us. And for the religious, they will say a prayer for those lost and those left behind. Well, most of the religious will be doing that. Reverend Terry Jones and his mindless flock will be spending the day fueling the flames of hatred and intolerance… literally.

I use the term reverend loosely, as he is obviously not a man who actually believes in Christian values. Jones has decided to declare tomorrow international burn the Koran/Quran day. And by international he means his small church is Florida, as I would imagine the rest of the world won’t be honoring his attempt at a holy war.

Already we’ve seen anti-U.S. protests in Afghanistan and other Muslim countries. Gen. David Petraeus, the top commander in Afghanistan, has stated that Jones’s Quran burning could lead to v…

Miscellaneous Items Charged at the Holiday Inn

Have you ever spent the night at a Holiday Inn and thought to yourself, “Hmm, I wonder if they would sell me that blow dryer?” Well, now we know the answer. Yes they will sell it to you, and this is how much they will charge for it.

What they really should be saying here is, “if you steal any of this, this is how much we are going to charge you.”

Veal Production

Personally I’ve never eaten veal, but for those of you that do here is something to think about next time you are down at the store.

Cyanide & Happiness - Beer Run

Another Oil Rig Explosion

“They are safe.” They tell us. “The BP rig explosion was a fluke, an unusual occurrence that most likely won’t happen again.” “That was a problem with BP’s record of safety; the other companies have a better record.” Well, it did happen again. Another oil rig exploded in the Gulf of Mexico. This one owned by Mariner Energy. Yet will our government do anything about it? Will they enact laws moving us off of oil energy into something better? Of course not, Obama will make some speeches, people will complain, and everything will go back to business as usual. Just like what has happened since the BP spill.
